In the future, please limit to 1 suggestion per thread. Otherwise it's hard to keep track of progress.

Re: Commands
"/rinfo RankName" lists permissions, which are a bit different, not specific commands. To see a list of commands that a rank can use, type "/commands @RankName" (or /cmds @RankName).
That said, I wouldn't mind adding colors to /cmds.

Born & raised in Russia without a father, so I kinda had to learn to fix everything myself. From plumbing, to door locks, to alarm clocks

Re: My Suggestions
I cannot do much about #5 because Mono, in addition to leaking memory, also incorrectly reports CPU usage and memory usage. So I cannot actually see when I'm running out of system resources.
I did, however, add an option to have the server automatically restart itself at a given interval today.

Re: Custom-colored name splitting in /players list.
That's kinda by design. fCraft's line-wrapper breaks up lines into pieces at word and color boundaries. So... this isn't really urgent, I'll look into it when I run out of better things to do

Re: My Suggestions
Good idea, and I was actually thinking of using this: http://www.maxmind.com/app/csharp
MaxMind.com provides a free database that's updated every month or so, so I could just have fCraft download a copy every once in a while.

Re: Adminblocks
Warning: This post contains technobabble. The main problem with custom block types is having to translate between custom block codes (for internal representation) and standard block codes (for actually sending to the client). That means every time someone joins a 512x512x64 map, like our main, this ...

Re: Speed-Building Contest (step 1: ideas)
I'd probably limit participation to at least builders+, to filter out the newbiest of players. I agree that giving out too many custom names would make the chat messy (like /title and /color did in MCLawl). I just couldn't think of anything else that doesn't involve money, as I am personally pretty ...

Speed-Building Contest (step 1: ideas)
Hello! First of all, this is an IDEA for a contest, not an actual announcement or rule list. I would like to hear your feedback and suggestions on the idea. Motivation I started playing Minecraft a pretty long time ago, before any custom servers existed. Back then only a few hackers could fly (and w...

Re: Spawn suggestion
After some deliberation, I decided to add per-rank spawns, but pass on the multiple spawn idea. So I will add the following functionality: /wmain @RankName WorldName - sets a rank-specific starting map /wmain @RankName - shows the rank-specific starting map /setspawn @RankName - sets a rank-specific...

Re: Another draw command suggestion!
Definitely doable but, like you said, there are a concerns about accidentally leaking into the map.
Also if I were to add this I'd probably call it "/fill", and add a "/fillnot" (analogous to /replacenot).

Re: Spawn suggestion
I'll go over the suggestions so far, and add another one: Multiple default spawns per map - not hard to do, technically, but I'm not sure what the command syntax would be. Lots of commands (/addspawn, /resetspawns, /spawns), or a single complicated one (/spawn [add|reset|list]). Also would spawns be...

Re: Draw Command Suggestion
Scaling UP by integer amounts (2x, 3x, 4x, etc) is very easy. Scaling each axis independently is not hard either. But scaling DOWN by any amount is very tricky, mathematically. I will either have to take every-other block, or try doing some sort of weird "antialiasing". Which sounds like a...

I am f
Hi guys, I guess it's time to update my old post . I am fragmer, the primary developer of the fCraft Server (custom software that powers our server). I work at a local Starbucks by day (pays my bills), and code by night. I've got a BS degree in Computer Science from UCSC. http://i.imgur.com/QVvtx.jp...
