When the mods are too preoccupied with whatever it is that mods do besides catching griefers, some griefers may slip past their nets. However when a player has 6000 blocks destroyed and only 7 built it is fairly certain this guy is griefing.
An option is to broadcast a warning about this player, to make his at least suspicious activity known to those who need to. The ratio I gave is merely an example, this ratio may want to be changeable to prevent warning spam in specific servers.

This would give a lot of false positives for people who like to make underground bases and such.
