So some of you may have heard about this upcoming game called Starbound.

It's sort of like Terraria except not, and you can check it out here:

Pre-orders are now open (from only $15 USD , gives you 1 copy of game + soundtrack + beta access when available), and maybe when it releases, or if the beta supports multiplayer, we could start an fCraft server?

Game is set to launch in 2013, so expect the beta soon-ish.

Not quite sure, it is a sci-fi game so expect some form of spaceship/shuttle.

I am happy to buy a 2d terraria lookalike that allows me to travel to and land on planets in realtime. I don't think Starbound does this. Looks like you have your starbase, and pick your destination via a list of some sorts, which just generates a seed which they have dubbed as "coordinates".
