Especially with apple products. Buying parts and getting it fixed by Apple is way too expensive. I replaced my iPod battery for 0.80$, bought the battery on eBay. Same with a friend's iPhone, ordered a battery + tools on eBay for 8$ and fixed it. It's pretty easy and you save a LOT of money. Who else repairs their own stuff?

Two summers ago, I spilled a massive glass of water right onto my MacBook. Apple quoted me $700, which obviously wasn't going to happen, so I went to ebay and bought a new top case (trackpad, keyboard) for $30, and did the repair myself. It's worked fine since then

This one time the speakers in my friend's car died, so I hit the dashboard really hard.

there was this one time i broke my ps3, i tried to fix it. but it didn't work so i got angry.
oh i helped my dad fix the breaks on his car. does that count?

I've blown a few tubes and speakers, and then successfully re-tubed, re-biased, and re-coned the amps/speakers.
Mmmm, tubes...


I also do a lot of guitar setups because I'm not paying some schmuck 60 bucks to fuck up my neck.

I fix my own stuff whenever I can. :3
I also always assemble my own PCs, which I will have to do again soon, I believe. ;-)

I allwase build/fix stuff myself.
I got education for electrician and IT.

Build all my pc's and servers myself, installed X10 in my house (yes i'm lazy).
I used to fix my car as well, with my old mazda.
But now i got one of those newer cars... so i just let the people deal with it that realy know what they are doing.

Only thing i hate fixing, are my dirty-dishes.

I don't fix my own shit. I ask dad...

Apart from assembling computers, nothing much. Don't know if that counts really... It's just screwing screws and applying thermal paste (which is as hard as putting butter on a bread)

I dropped my phone in the water once. I let it sit in a bowl of dry rice for two weeks and it started working like a charm. Same thing with my iPod too.

As much as Apple likes to rip us off...

My past job involved general contracting. That job requires you to do drywalling, mudding, electrical work, plumbing and everything else under the sun and moon.

I dont understand much about how computers work. I must of missed the episode of The Magic School Bus when they were talking about computers.

I do know my way around an internal combustion engine. From crankshafts to camshafts, to cylinder bore to taper. Its in my blood to fix and ogle at.

I usally fix stuff on my spare time like this one time I just bought the new Xbox but of cource it broke bc people don't know how to solder properly so cracked it open and fixed it.
And I basically have a computer built from the ground up just got my smexy case today sry about the URL it's kinda huge bc Im lazy and don't want to take apic my self thx google :3

Well yah it dose but I find the fold out side panels and the 5 pop out hard drive holders I find that very usefull
