I think that the CPU fan thingy right? :|
You plug your cpu heatsink fan there so that it revs up and down depending on heat, if i'm correct.

I have a massive cpu cooler plugged in someplace else.

Anyway I assembled my pc and everything is working fine now =) except for the sound which creates static noises every now and then, also when I touch the case.

That's funny, that's pretty close to the specs of the Macbook I ordered last week :P I didn't upgrade the CPU, though. The hi-res screen is great.

My dad just put an ASUS ATI HD6850 and it's performing almost as well as mine, because he has an ASUS board to compliment it. It's funny because we paid the same price for each of ours :P

The fact that you have windows doesnt change that you made your parents buy you a $950 laptop and a very shiny $2000 sticker...

You could of hackintosh'ed an hp envy with better components for a third of the price or bought a really nice Asus, MSI, or Sager...and you STILL wouldve saved money!

dont even get me started on the unibody crap >_> the macbook pro isnt the only unibody laptop...
apple can take their products and shove them up their overpriced asses.

Laptop's are fuckin' gay anyway. With a bit of research you can customize something 10x the capability of a one off laptop purchase, WITH future capabilities. A laptop bought in 2011 will ALWAYS be that, and will start being outdated from purchase.

My setup works the best, I have a laptop too :P

And when it isn't being taken into uni, it functions as a third screen!

Better post my Desktop rig that I built this time last year and kept it up to date. :)

CPU: Phenom 2 x6 1090T @ 3.2ghz.
Memory: 8gb G.Skill Ripjaws @ 1600mhz. (2x4gb)
Graphics 2x XFX Radeon 6950 2gb cards in crossfire.
Motherboard: Recently upgraded to Gigabyte 990FX-UD5 from an Asrock 890GX Extreme3.
Monitors: 3x 1080P screens in Eyefinity. (5760x1080 resolution.)
Cooling: Corsair H70 closed water loop cooler.
Case: Antec Darkfleet-85.
Drives: - 2x 60 OCZ SSD in Raid for the OS.
- 2x 1tb Samsung Spinpoint 1tb in Raid for Games.
- 2x 2tb Western Digital Caviar Greens for Storage.
Keyboard and Mouse: $10 combo I got from Kmart. (Lol.)
Speakers: JVC 7.1 Home theater surround sound.

Next thing on the list is an 8-core Zambezi CPU when they are released.
I keep everything at stock most of the time with a GPU disabled to save a bit of money on the power bill.
If I need the extra performance, I have a hotkey which will set my CPU speed to 4ghz with 1.45 volts and enable my second graphics card.
Desktop pic: (Warning, extremely wide!) http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6053/unledbxm.jpg

I also have a Resistive Touch-Screen Tablet with an Atom N470, 2gb of Ram, 500gb 7200rpm HDD and Windows 7. - Which I use for web browsing and watching TV in bed, haven't tried Minecraft on it yet though, but I assume it wouldn't be very enjoyable.

24".
Even splurged out for the XFX Eyefinity stand ($500) so I can run it in Portrait or Landscape modes.

Screens are only crappy 24" LED TN panels however that I paid about $220 AU each for, eventually hoping to upgrade to Dell 24" IPS panels when they are available in LED form.
