Contests
Contests
Contests are a good cause for trying new builds and unconventional stuff one usually wouldn't do.
Therefore I'm interested what happened to the Scifi-Contest.
If there's just a lack of moderation, I'm willing to organise contests on a regular basis

Re: Contests
Trustees organized that. Umm, fragmer came up with fContest, But he totally forgot about it.
I'll talk to him, and see if I can help with fContest. ^^
As for the other contest, Ask Hit_Girl.

Is Hit_Girl active in the forum? I rarely see her ingame.

Re: Contests
I think it was just a lack of active judges that killed off contest...again. Every contest we had was extended another week or two because Hit had to either wait for the official judges, or get some random's vote just to end it. Also, only having three to four good builds made the contest rather boring.
Now that we have more OPs and masons+, it could be better this time.

Re: Contests
We can do this again, we have a nice new trustees that maybe can be judges as well.
But 'hosting' one. Is a bit harder i gues.

Re: Contests
why should an inactive Player organise such events? That can't work out.Ollieboy wrote:SMPWundsalz wrote:Is Hit_Girl active in the forum? I rarely see her ingame.
Regarding the judgment, I think a OP/mason+ vote would work out fine.
If it's possible to use Dankirk for a votesystem a community award (builder+) would be a good idea too.
I don't see a problem, can you explain your point?Intertoothh wrote:But 'hosting' one. Is a bit harder i gues.

Re: Contests
Setting up the contest, making the world, making posts about it, make sure everybody follows the rules, make sure the enddate is neat but eneugh time to build, make a nice theme, then get all the judges to give there oppinions, get a winner, say 'woot you won', copie the build to a hall of fame.

Clearly I haven't always been inactive.Wundsalz wrote: why should an inactive Player organise such events? That can't work out.
I'm all for a new contest, however we'll need a new system for how we do it & how we reward it.
I shall open a new discussion in Trustee'land and we'll take it from there.

Sounds good, keep at it!
regarding the "make a nice theme" part I hope you haven't put any thoughts into it yet.
If you did, drop them because you want

Re: Contests
i would love contests. And ive already built some stuff that i guess would classify as sci-fi. I have two star wars tie fighters built in builder31. Ask Pemalite, Eightdarkskulss, and they will tell you how extremely detailed they are. Also im working on more builds that are like star wars related.

I've bothered fragmer enough to get fContest maybe going on. We'll see.

I'm happy to help out where (if) I can, if this gets started.
