[REJECTED] ReadOthersPMs Permission
[REJECTED] ReadOthersPMs Permission
Something I think would be very useful, is the ability for admins to read other's private messages sent on the server.
It's a simple idea, but would be very useful.
There should be a permission, e.g. ReadOthersPMs, and a per rank limit. As the Kick/Ban/Promote/Demote/etc permissions has. This means that with this hierarchy:
Admin
SupOp
Op
Builder
Member
Guest
You can make so Op's can read guest's PM's, SupOp's can read Builder's PM's, and Admin read everyone's PM's, etc. You get the thought.
Thanks considering,

Re: ReadOthersPMs Permission
You can just use /spec or read the logs... sounds useles to me... Maybe im missing the point...
Re: ReadOthersPMs Permission
Like Pyro said, /Spectate already allows you to read others' PMs. And all PMs are logged, unless you uncheck that option.
Re: ReadOthersPMs Permission
It's not a command for reading PM's, but it is so all PM's sent will display for the player with the permission, like:
from Player1 to Player2: This is a very secret message
And only the server owner can read the log. And who reads through the log for fun?
It's not for finding out what 2 players are talking about. It's general.

Re: ReadOthersPMs Permission
Personally, I believe users should be entitled to some means of privacy, this seems like a very intrusive idea.

Re: ReadOthersPMs Permission
This could work backwards if you wanted, so that if you are spectating somebody, you can no longer read their PMs without the permission.

Re: ReadOthersPMs Permission
Or maybe an /allcmds command, shows what everyone is typing that isn't broadcasting throughout the server, (Includes PM's, Rank Messages (@@<rankname>), and failed commands (/kcik).).
/allcmds on (Turns All commands on)
/allcmds off (Turns All commands off)
/allcmds on (Turns All commands on)
/allcmds off (Turns All commands off)
