[Invalid] Map breaking after 1023xyz

Post by Nessy »

When a map exceeds 1023 blocks in either direction, funny things start to happen. The compass will show a negative dimension (-1023,y,z) and blocks are unable to be placed from the bad area. I can place blocks from the good area into the bad but I can't place blocks standing in the bad into the good. Cuboids used within the bad area (using /mark) come up as 0,y,z. Of course they don't show up even though it is said that it drew them.

These are all known bugs. It is due to LOLNotch protocol limitations...

Minecraft protocol was not designed to handle maps over 1023 blocks in any dimension. It can still draw the map, but all coordinates will be messed up, and some players will be invisible. There is nothing I can do to avoid that - it's part of the Minecraft Classic nature.
