Hi everyone!

We haven't had one of these in a loooong time (about 6 months!), so I think it's a good time to revive our building contest. If we like what we see and get a lot of participation, I'll continue to set these up bi-weekly!

What is the building contest?

This is a contest we hold for anyone in the community who is ranked builder or higher, to give you a chance to show off your building skill and earn some cool prizes! Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries, and usually include things such as Steam games.

How do I enter?

To enter, simply join the Contest map (/j contest), and start building! If your building will not fit in a Contest map and you own a personal map, feel free to build it there. Also, we will open up more Contest maps if necessary (Contest2, Contest3, etc.).

How much time will I have to build?

The contest will be open for a period of two weeks, beginning as soon as the Contest map is opened. After this time, the map will be locked and voting will begin.

How is the contest judged?

Our group of Event Planners will be reviewing all entries after the two-week building period is over. We will privately hold an unbiased vote to determine the winners, based on characteristics such as effort, detail, originality, and adherence to the theme. This process usually takes about one week, and the winners will be posted on the forums.

Ooh, I started on something cool last week, can I finish it and use it as my entry?

Unfortunately, we can't allow that. To keep things fair, everyone is given two weeks to build something from scratch.

Anything else?

Probably, but I can't remember at the time of writing this. Make sure you read all of the rules posted on the walls of the Contest map. Have fun!

There will not be a size limit this time around.

D: new contest started fuck worst time to have my Internet cut

Actually, due to the server running out of memory and corrupting large maps, the contest worlds have been unloaded until the situation can be resolved (contest1 was corrupted, but rest assured, we do have back ups). I'm willing to believe contest will be extended a couple days due to the inconvenience.

So pretty good time to have your internet cut, really. You won't miss a thing

Yes, the contest will be extended by an extra day. I will load them back up after writing this post. A backup for contest has already been loaded, so everything should be okay.

There had better be some battleships.

Well I might not be on for the next two to three months or so possibly a year. So ya hope to be on the server soon.

btw, i have 2 question
1. can we move (or copy) our finished contest build from contest map to other map before the contest over?
2. if someone win the first prize, can he request different prize ? like... minecraft gift code?

It was hard to finish in the time, I blame myself for thinking big and trying to do more than 1 object in my entry =P.

I've been having some internet troubles but now it's fixed. Does Pemalite visit the forums at all? I need to contact him. Otherwise I will see him in game some time I suppose.
