Darklight Galleries

Post by Darklight »

Hey guys, Darklight67 checking in :D
I just thought I would post a gallery of my builds because what I really need is opinions (I plan to apply for mason in the future) on them. It would be awesome if you guys could help me out and it would mean a lot if you did :)

A golden clock tower, as of yet unfinished. This can be found on builder04

EDIT:My golden mansion, this beauty was my pride and joy as a builder. This got lava griefed by a builder so as you can imagine I'm pretty pissed off. I removed it, because it's way too hard to rebuild

The hidden library site (builder04):

This was an experimental build; it looks like crap because it is :) (builder04)

The lighthouse. This is also one of my faves. Its modelled off the lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the 7 Ancient wonders (found on builder05):

The town hall I like too. Bilde challenged me to make one and obviously I completed it.

All your builds are pretty descent, for your rank status of course. I dislike gold, but that's my opinion, it just looks, ew.

Good work though :happycreeper: Should I hope to see more builds and a bit more of improvement? :)

Thanks for the reply DI, and yes you should :)
I tend to like all the ancient kind of things so you may see me building more of the 7 wonders.
And ive got the plan for the temple of Jerusalem all laid out and set :)

I like the Town Hall and Lighthouse :happyskeleton: . The others are decent, like Dreaming said. I think you've got a great building style, and even though the gold might not look amazing, I think you could pull it off in some builds. Try exploring texture combinations, and I think you'll find your builds to be more appealing!

you're off to a great start with us darklight.

the only suggestion I would have for you at this point is to try to experiment with some non-square structures.

it's challenging to make thing not look like giant boxes on minecraft but that's the fun of it.

keep up the good work.

The temple of Jerusalem will probs be a square one but ive just had an idea for a build.
And the lighthouse was meant to be slanted, which kinda failed :/ haha
Thanks Shank :)

Farily decent builds, as Dreaming said, they're good for a builder.

The only suggestion I can offer is to use more curves and less flat walls.

Keep it up Darklight. Like others have said, keep building and improving and now that you are a veteran, I hope to see those builds improve even more. If you need more tips on certain ways of building or improving something, like the small one I showed you for your volcano, I'm more than glad to help.

(just on a side note, the only build I truly don't like is that enterprise lol. I actually did a small enterprise myself a long time ago as builder.)

Also, just for reference, the 2 large builds I did that helped me get mason, 1 build took me ~2 weeks and the other took me ~1 week. A couple large quality builds that take awhile to make is better than a bunch of medium size lesser quality ones. Now that you're a vet you can make larger than 10k block size builds too.

Ive completed and started on another build since last post.

My volcano. Im happiest with this, its definitely my favourite so far. The fact that the mountain itself was done completely by hand has a major factor in it :/
This can be found in vet04
