I have to agree that with George Lucas' latest endeavors this can't go anywhere but up. We have to keep in kind that the Star Wars films were not going anywhere starting with 1999...
OK, apart from the original Star Wars: Clone Wars series from 2003 created by Genndy Tartakovsky (not the 2008 CGI shit).
Remember that people like John Lasseter hold key positions at Disney these days, especially after the Pixar buyout/merger.

Yeah, this could be a good thing for Star Wars. There is plenty of content in the expanded universe that could be filmed and improve the average Star Wars film quality.
