[More Current] Movie Topic

Post by xN8Gx »

We have a music topic, a viral-video topic, we need a movie topic. And the other movie topic started and stopped around 6 months ago, so rather than necropost, let's just start a new topic for all you kids to reply to, troll on, and in all inevitability, derail due to ponies or arrow-related injuries to the knee.

Easily my favorite movie would be Donnie Darko. Close second to that would be Edward Scissorhands, and The Boondock Saints is third (random compared to the first two, but still fucking awesome).

So man, yeah. What are your favorite movies?

Blood In Blood Out was a really good movie in my opinion, so was Inception. I can't really decide on a favorite movie, but those two would most likely make the top 10 list :creeper:

1. The Big Lebowski (The Dude abides.)
2. LoTR Trilogy (it has it's flaws, but overally it's a beautiful adaptation of Tolkien's masterpiece).
3. Stalker (stunning visuals, Tarkovsky was a genius)
4. Oldboy
5. The Time Machine
6. The Shawshank Redemption
7. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
8. Monty Pythin and the Meaning of Life
9. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
10. Fight Club

Yeah, those are all mainstream, I don't give a fuck :P
I'll see you on the Dark Side of the Moon

Just for Hylloch
Just my opinions
Your Highness- This was an absolute waste of my time
The Hangover- Funny the first time, after that...meh
Gran Torino-Excellent movie that's not super mainstream
Hotel Rwanda-GREAT MOVIE
Lord of War- No
The Lion King- F****** love you
Letters from Iwo Jima- Not that great of a movie imo tbh.
The Book of Eli- Liked it better the second time
The Hurt Locker- I questioned why it beat out Avatar for best movie...then I watched it and realized why
Pandorum- I miss her </3

I think Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels was a more clever story and a far better ending, but my god Snatch is a fantastic film.

Interesting story about Blackhawk down.

My uncle flew helicopters for the army in the gulf war. His unit was borrowed by Blackhawk Down to help with the realism. They wanted real helicopters for the rescuers and such, so my uncle ended up being on-screen as the pilot.

There's a scene in the movie where the heli is firing its chainguns over a boardwalk while people scatter. The people below aren't acting. They got a bunch of locals to play the crowd, and they totally forgot the fact that the chaingun would be dropping red hot shells on the crowds below. :happyskeleton:
