Boot up problems.
I finished building my computer last summer, and have never had any problems with it. But recently, every other time I boot it up it makes this "click click click" noise, and won't start. There are no error messages, the monitor just stays black with a small white _ In the top left corner. I was wondering if anyone knows why this is happening.

First of all, small clicking sounds are never good. At least from my experience.
You may want to check and make sure they aren't slight beeping sounds. A lot of BIOS systems have something called a beep sequence where when an issue occurs, a certain amount of beeps will sound off to tell you the problem.
Is there any more information you can give us?
If your computer goes to the black screen before the Windows logo pops up, then I have good news. The good news is, as far I remember reading that is, you aren't in as much trouble as you think. It just sounds like you have a corrupted boot sector in the OS.
This means that upon booting your computer up, you grew impatient and turned it off or something. There are multitudes of reasons for a corrupt boot sector besides that, but it is repairable.
Let me know if this is something that seems to fit your problem.

Yeah, it goes to the black screen before anything comes up, at one point I let it sit for about 10 minutes and it actually finished booting.

Yeah, I had that problem before. You are more than likely experiencing a boot sector corruption. Do you have the Operating Systems disc? (Windows 7, XP, vista) etc

Just pop that CD in and boot from in under your BIOS settings. Should be a repair option there.
