I think we're just trying to figure out why you feel the need to announce your absence. It's really not that serious of a deal. If you're going to be inactive for a bit then just go inactive. It's really not necessary to create a topic on the forums ...

By the way, before you go to the forums and create a completely new topic for a single question, don't be afraid to ask about it in-game. There is usually someone online who would be more than happy to answer any server related questions you may have.
