Contests are a good cause for trying new builds and unconventional stuff one usually wouldn't do.
Therefore I'm interested what happened to the Scifi-Contest.
If there's just a lack of moderation, I'm willing to organise contests on a regular basis

You probably want to apply for the mason rank instead of the architect rank. There also isn't a need to appeal anything. regarding your pictures: whatever you've tried, it doesn't work - use any Imagehoster to upload your pictures and embed them here with [img]URLtoImage[/img]

you're probably referring to the cathedral, which is WIP. Actually you can see the first part of it in the background of the 3rd picture, though it has developed quite a bit since the date of the screenshots
