Uhm, no, not really. It's completely free. There are items that can be bought in the store but they can just as well be obtained in the game through random drops or achievements.

yeah i tried, had to install crap and i got confused, yes that's really how bad i am with computers :hmm: :?
got steam to work, trying to get tf2, and it is saying "updating teamfortress2, ready to play in approximately 2 hours 30 min" :hmm: dunno if its because my computer is to crappy to run the game or if it just takes forever to (correct me if I'm wrong) "install".
(i have not played it once) will it do this everytime i try to play?

@Dreaming- Yes, there are limitations, on trading, and backpack size, for the good reason that if there weren't any, people would start idling companies. You can attain all non promotional and useful items through drops and crafting though.

@Jobs- No, normally it starts in like 1 minute, but updating/installing it takes forever... Especially with the huge number of people who just decided to DL it, or are needing updates.

I hope to see all of you, especially Lim Dul, in game soon or at some point in time, add me on Steam-> TheOneTheyCallF

Great game, I highly recommend it and I'm shocked it's f2p.

I don't remember saying there was a catch, but limited users DO have a bit smaller inventory space and limited trading, not a big deal really.

Other than that, it's basically the same for paid and free.

Plus non premium accounts can't initiate trades, and steam accounts with no purchased games can't send friend requests.

oh wow free to play... cool.

Just an FYI, most of the additional items and weapons you get through drops/trading are garbage or just on par with the original weapons. Only a select few are even worth having over the original weapons. Although I haven't played in awhile, so maybe that's changed... I doubt it though.

I'm actually pretty excited about this, I had a few friends who I had been nagging for months to buy TF2, but they're all too cheap. Maybe I'll start playing it again :P

My strange shotgun. It has 350 kills on it. I feel accomplished, though I must get 8500 for it to be complete.
