/clear doesn't work while deafened. the message saying you are deafened still stays. Even if this is to remind you so you don't forget, you should know your deafened when you can't see chat anyways.

/clear doesn't work because it sends out 30 blank lines. When you're deafened you won't receive any messages, neither the one /clear is sending (blank lines).
I agree it should be changed, though.

Why? It only takes like 5 seconds for the message to go away.

/Deaf is a very simple command. It blocks ALL messages, regardless of content. I don't want to complicate it.
