Main Map Suggestion

Post by Destoned »

We have so many tunnelers and its impossible to keep up with them and constantly be filling in tunnels while griefers are roaming.

Would it be a possibility to make the ground layer thiner? its kinda extreme anyway, No one really uses that much anyway unless they're tunneling. Main would be Much easier to keep clean if we did this, any comments?

Or make a huge pit under the map filled with air, inside there, there will be fire. When tunnelers tunnel in they burn! THEY BURN!

I suggested this several weeks ago back on SpA, and this was pretty much the response I got :P In addition, I'm sure it would benefit the admins greatly, but at the same time, it would detract from the players' fun. Guests seem to really enjoy building underground, unfortunately.

That's actually not a bad idea...

I've told a lot of you this already, but-
Delete the entire bottom row. They can't escape without pressing 'r', typing /tp, or finding some kind of water to climb up, they can still tunnel, just at the very bottom of the map only. Of course, the amount of guests who would just get stuck there while building would be absurd...

yay! my emoticons in use.

i need to figure out where the rage and pig ones went.

maybe reimport them so they're in some sort of order.

my main map suggestion (just to keep this post relevant)

what about a 'subdevelopment'?

basically an area with rows and the main land plots marked initially.
coudl include roundabouts, culdesacs, open areas, small wooded area around the edges.. but mostly encouraging the guests to create a neighborhood of sorts.

one area of it could be more of a commercial industrial area for the hotels.. etc.

i know it's like city world but it's a theme. so suck it. :P

sure they like making rape dungeons or whatever, nothings stoping them from doing that with only say, 10 layers of dirt beneath them.

I think we go with the admin layer idea, give them about 4 layers then a layer of admincrete. And any guests that complain about not being able to build underground can be discreetly guided to the guest map.

We still have the guest map right?

I tried this with the ground (5 layers down from grass).
It worked a for a bit, less tunnelers.
But i dont think this is the best solution.

Tunnelers aren't the problem, its the grass griefers and block spammers. their the ones who turn main into a living hell.

Grass grief and block spam is very easy and quick to fix, tunnels aren't.

well that helps, but you still would have to work your way around legit builds and tunnels.
