I too am battlemage of sorts, but I use robes, magic mask, and then cover the rest up with elven (for now). Light armor ftw.

I'm afraid to admit that I've never played an Elder Scrolls game before, but I picked this one up anyway because I was feeling left out. It's very enjoyable so far, despite my stupidity and the amount of deaths I've had :D I'm finding it hard to put down.

I started out as a mage, but now I'm more of a stealthy archer type (15x dagger damage is literally OP, not to menion 3x damage with +140% damage bows) with occasional destro extravaganza, though illusion also helps.

I find this game much more enjoyable than Oblivion or even recently released F:NV even though the plot falls far from amazing.

I'm just a Nord warrior, and I have been upgrading Sneak and whatnot. I stay the hell away from Heavy Armour considering Glass armour just seems so very boss. I'm working hard on pillaging mines and smithing useless shit to sell for almost no value, just for xp. I want some Dragonscale.

Same, you're talking to the sole provider of leather bracers in the whole of skyrim.

Haha nice. I feel so cool when I'm sneaking around and hunting deer outside Whiterun.

Because of that song, I might just get this game...

*EDIT*: Remember when we talked about a certain sproutcraft feature? I believe I just found a new mp3 :D

I was hoping to switch out the battle music with that guitar cover but it seems the game doesn't have a music folder like what Morrowind and Oblivion had. I guess all the music is embedded in the Skyrim-Sounds.bsa file.

Yeah that was an odd one indeed. I've yet to use the wobbajack after he gave me it, I wonder what it does.

I used it on a guard. It spawned a chicken on him and then he killed me. The chicken didn't even help. Silly chicken.

Anybody who happens to play with Steam offline, make sure you don't update Skyrim. Damn Steam (not Bethesda) update fucks with how the game handles memory and not only makes it crash a lot (more) with high res textures, but also breaks the Large Address Aware patch fix thingy.

Yay a new patch! Bad for people modding but good for noobs like me who enjoy the regular game! I will mod eventually, mind you.

They even released a mod that inputs this song as the Main Menu background theme (instead of the old one :))

Btw. Shame the new patch fucked a few things up, thankfully, there's stuff to be seen on YouTube, like this little gem:

Btw, this is what a fully modded Morrowind looks like these days:

Sad part is, Morrowind hasn't aged well graphically.
It used to be one of the best looking games when it first came out.

I remember firing it up a few years later after release on a Radeon 9800 and enabling "Truform" which is like an early Tessellation implementation.
'Twas epic and one of the first times I ever saw circles that were actual circles and not a demented hexagon representing a circle in a game.

Even maxed out and modded on my system the game looks really bad. The texture packs don't seem to fit the game all that well and look jarring and not natural.
On the bright side though, the distant lands mod looks awesome in it.

Fast forward to Oblivion... I would say today a modded Oblivion with the Oblivion Graphics Extender looks better than a Vanilla Skyrim.

Also, there is a bunch of modders remaking Morrowind in the Oblivion Engine which is worth checking out: http://morroblivion.com/

If history is anything to go by though, I expect to see Skyrim looking drop dead epic in a few years and I can't wait!
Just hope that Bethesda or a modder adds in proper Eyefinity support.

A few days ago I went to play Skyrim and changed my name on IRC to Aleries|TouringSkyrim. Someone then told me to take pictures of my tour. Well I did :P
