Half of me is excited about this one.

The graphics demo from the Nintendo press conference were pretty good, and the concepts they have for functionality were pretty impressive.

What do you guys think?

I'm so disappointed, and I'm headdesking continuously at the name. I was already upset with the rumors of "Nintendo Feel". This thing looks to me like a short, fat Wii with an oversized, bulky controller with an unnecessary screen slapped onto it (believe me, I'm all for going back to a traditional controller, but was the screen necessary? I have a TV!). I want them to just cut it out with all of the gimmicks, and give us a plain, simple gaming system. Is that so much to ask for?

Well let's be fair here. The video didn't exactly show cool things... Like who's going to take the time to place the controller on the ground only to see that golf balls, I don't want to draw on my video game controller, I want to play games! They're not releasing a portable console, if I want to draw I'll take a pen and paper. Though that HD zelda with the inventory on the controller seems like a great idea. Right now it's only 1 controller by console which is very sad. People will be fighting over who has the cool controller and who has the boring wiimotes. So it all depends what Nintendo will do with it. I have faith, saw some cool games coming. WE'LL SEE! It's also going to be pretty expensive.

PS : HD Zelda alone will be enough to make me buy one of these babies! :3

Yep, LOZ in HD has me as excited as a young kid at Christmas.

Nintendo also discussed the price. They are shooting for NO MORE than $350. Thats about as much as the original 360 was when it came out.

Another thing that I'm concerned about is the fact that the controller itself would probably cost quite a lot to replace. Say I'm sitting there playing a game, when all of the sudden -- OOPS. I dropped the controller. The screen cracks and it no longer works. At that point, if I was in that situation, I'd probably just forget the idea of buying a new controller. It's not fair for them to put so much monetary value in a peripheral required to play the games (or at least get the full experience out of them).

Handheld gaming seems to have outgrown itself and gone against its original concept of being simple, small and cheap. I have no need for these things, the games are usually half-assed console copies anyway.
