/extrude

It would be neat if there was a command to extrude a selection in a specified direction. For example: I was building a roof earlier, and I built a 2D shape that the roof was going to follow. From there, I copied and pasted that shape ~20 times to finish the roof.
Usage:
/extrude [N, S, E, W] amount
Aliases:
/ex
/xt
The "amount" parameter would specify the number of times the selection would be copied in the chosen direction,
not the number of blocks it would fill.
Just an idea I thought of

Maybe a better way to phrase this would be smudge. I've run across many situation where this would be useful.

This would make sense. Also, I forgot to clarify: it would probably be logical to have this be used as a transform command (like /mirror), after using /copy.

Yeah this would have come in handy for the roofs I was doing. Though I just pasted 5 times, copied the 5 and the pasted the rest 5 at a time.

it sounds like the command you're looking for is...
/extrude

Good god, I knew extrapolate didn't sound right; that was the word I was looking for. Thanks, grandpa shank.

/extrapolate- finishes your build for you, guessing at what you'd build. Genius.
