Unless I can find a way to embed it here, you'll have to play it on a freewebs account I made, If you can zoom in on the webpage I suggest it, cause its not at optimal resolution right now.

Play it here!

The controls are awful... Up to jump... The bane of any jump&run control scheme. Especially when coupled with space to sprint - you have to be some kind of 7-fingered alien to play this properly.

I use one hand lol, first three fingers on WASD, and my thumb on the space bar.

Awful!

Never mix actions and directions for the same hand, let alone a set of fingers that are close together. Jump/Sprint = Actions, WASD = movement directions.

Cartoon suggested space for jump, ASD for movements, and shift for sprint, but sprint would trigger sticky keys, any suggestions?

I prefer arrow keys and A=jump S=action D=action 2 for my platformers, but just add customisable controls and everyone will shut up :P

Also, fuck sticky keys!

Disable sticky keys in windows.

I always use Shift for crouch in every FPS, so it's not like it's not disabled anyways.

ASDW + mouse, would be my preference for movement

Anyways, since as far as I can tell, it has no real direction as a game, unless you're making it kind of like the sonic games, its a bit hard to suggest things for. If you are making it entirely pokemon based, it'd only make sense to fight other pokemon. If it isn't... then it would be far more entertaining to have pikachu fight a collection of random objects/characters.

welll i'm going to make it to where you go through levels collecting things, using various power-ups and gadgets along the way to help you, enemies you fight i'm not to sure yet, maybe various mixed with pokemon? combat interface im thinking of making it like super smash bros, and there will be boss fights, such as fighting the infamous King Krabby (hint hint) but so far its just a learning experience, once i get side scrollers down i'm moving on to RPGs
