Productivity Booster

I've recently found myself writing a shitload of essays for a scholarship I'm applying for, and I stumbled upon this beauty.

http://www.baara.com/q10/

I have no idea why, but this makes writing papers easier. I can't explain it. The live word count at the bottom is very relevant to my interests, I guess, but that's not all of it.

If you have to do any substantial writing any time soon, give this a shot.

Doesn't Microsoft Word have a live word count?

Pretty sure it does. But the full screen option alone makes it a good substitute

I like the simplicity, and I would never touch Word. lol. I'm an open office guy.

I actually really like Word 2010 -- it's leaps and bounds over any other word processor that I've used.

That said, I do love the the simplicity of this text editor. I use one that is similar, called WriteRoom, on my macbook. Fullscreen text editing is great for attention-deficit folks like myself.

open office has been good for me but i've only used the word processor and spreadsheet apps.

haven't looked @ the powerpoint clone yet though.

my work uses MS but just recently started installing OO on all new machines.

Yeah, haven't touched anything but write and calc either, and I only touched calc once when I was min-maxing my oblivion dude. I'd be wary of doing presentations with it.

Pros:
- I like it, It's a simple word processor
- Doesn't have clunky crap everywhere
- Make awesome click-y noises :D

Cons:
- I don't really like it, It's a bit too simple
- Doesn't save to .doc
- How to print?
- My qualifications do not cover the use of this program (Cert I Operate a PC)

All in all it may help me but probably not. Anyway it's a really nice program, turn off the sound and you have a nice lite word processor.

Oh yes, the sound must die. Horrible horrible horrible horrible.

It saves as a text file. You can open it up in some other program and typeset it when you're done.
