do i need a router too 'Port Foward' a server my friend doesnt know how only on a router but I use wi-fi modem I havent done anything yet as im unsure me and my friend were going to make a server but my other friend was explaining but all i find is 'u and ur friends need hamichi to play without a router'. Please if you could change it too wifi is well or tell me how to do it as i planed a server a while ago I asked many people but there unsure please reply thank you

Two possible options:

1) Portforward your modem/router 25565 is the standard port you'll need to use. Visit http://portforward.com/ and follow the instructions for help.

2) You can host a server using hamachi, however, anyone whom wishes to use your server will have to be connected to your hamachi network. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qePQp8ovG9U

(You're better off using step One, its much easier)

If it's just a modem all your ports should be open, although firewalls sometimes block incoming/outcoming on certain ports so you should check your antivirus/windows settings.
