How can i change my name color like to many different colours. NOT TO CHANGE RANK like i go to a server called Project Vanilla. I typed /info fragmer (Creator of fCraft) he had such a color ful name hw do i do it

Yes, there is. Set up your own server and you can do whatever you want.

No, unfortunantely for you there isn't. All you need is that extra 10-15(your currency) laying around to donate. It's well worth the entire map just for you, the custom in-game colors of your choice and the custom forum title.

If you run your own server and are willing and able to mod your copy of fCraft, then yes. Otherwise, no.

Sounds too hard. You should just make your own server software from scratch.

I will be phasing out global color names entirely with the next release of fCraft. Too many people have been bugging me with their vanity name requests.

Well, I wonder... What is this "mod" for fCraft that allows colored names? If you know, please tell. Editing PlayerDB.txt doesn't work. Changing my name within it from "Xane123" to "&9Xane&c123" makes the server not recognize me and make me the default rank.

You don't edit the PlayerDb... Why would it be that simple?

You edit and compile fCraft code.

Cool. Well, do you know what needs to be changed in the source to make the colored names possible? I'm sure everyone on my server'd appreciate it!

Also, you said you would "phase out 'global color names' in the next release". What are Global Color Names? Don't I already have one? (My rank's single colored name). If you're phasing out colored names, please don't fragmer! I want to see what it's like to have c o l o r !

There were two global color names (visible on all fCraft servers) - mine and Kirshi's. Starting with 0.600 there will not be any global color names. There is currently no easy way to make custom names. I will add a way in next major release. Stop asking.

will Iclassy still exist? Or will you change it so theres an easier way?

Whenever I'm done with 0.600, there will be a way to set displayed name per-player. The displayed name will be stored in PlayerDB. There will not be any need to edit the source.

Thanks, fragmer. I'll wait now, awaiting the next release. Too bad my router's not able to do the server (although Verizon could, but won't work now... )

In 0.600_r932+, you can use "/setinfo" to set custom names. Usage: If you want a title, prepend it to the name. If you want colors, use percent-codes to enter them (same as Minecraft colorcodes, but with a percent-mark (%) instead of an ampersand (&)).

Xane, little OT here, but looking at your signature, I'd suggest renting a dedicated server or VPS in a datacenter somewhere to host your server. Trying to host one on your own machine with that level of throughput is just cruel to anybody on your server.

(also, according to that img, 17% of the US has worse speeds than you! Holy shit!)

Ah I didnt see that you added % support today, so I allowed '&' to be used in chat. Are there any potential security threats by allowing '&' to be typed into chat?

Support for typing "%" instead of "&" for colors has existed for the past 5 months. It requires "UseColorsInChat" permission.

There are HUUUUUUUUUUUGE security risks associated with allowing '&' in chat. A malformed message can crash clients of every single person on the server at once.
