Abstract: I was demoted to guest, and practically ridiculed for 'fibbing' about the griefing that had occurred under my account. To be precise, afaik, there was 1 5500 block cuboid of lava placed in an open spot in Main, and various water/lava blocks placed in a guest's build. I was afk when this had happened, and i only learned of the details as i could gather them, plus looking over the log. My little brother, Username Tracygo23, had gotten on my computer and committed all these acts before i got on. When I forcibly kicked him out and forbid him of ever touching my computer again (after the countless times i had done so before) i found myself frozen and accused of griefing. After i learned of the details, i had tried to explain the circumstances, but it was all taken with a grain of salt. I was ridiculed for lying about what happened, saying that my lil bro couldn't have know cuboid commands (the ones that i suspected to be used was /c, /lava, /water, and apparently, /f main). I'll explain how he knew them in the following section. Then, i was demoted, laughed at, and then told to appeal here if i wanted any chance of reclaiming my rank. But i didn't come to appeal for my rank; i came to appeal for the truth, and for how i was treated during this pointless ordeal.

Background: I had visited spawn2 to look at one of the player's spawn (which turned out to be a large lava box). I then looked around the place, seeing how it is here where spawns are made, and stored. After maybe a minute, I left my computer to have lunch. The game however, was still on. (I use WOM client). after... 5 or 10 minutes?, i came back, and saw my little brother (9 years old) sitting at my computer, and i forcibly kicked him out, yelled at him, and banned him from my computer (for the Nth time). I then went on to see what my brother did, and found myself to be frozen. I then interrogated (yes, interrogated) him of what he did. He denyed (as always) that he didn't do anything, and that he doesn't know why i was frozen. After asking why i was frozen, i was told that i had been griefing lava and water blocks in main. after realizing where the mess was (it was right next to me, in someone's build), i offered to clean it up myself, but jmax555 offered to do it. Desosus then told me that I am responsible for my account, and that next time it was a demote. I complied, and when i was unfrozen, i quickly went to help out to clean the mess in the build. When finished, i flew around for a while before i caught wind of Desosus asking who made a 5500 block lava cuboid in Main. This is where things got VERY confusing. DreamingInsane went into the log to investigate. I announced that if it turned out to be me (as in the account) that did it, i would personally clean it up. The response i got was that if it was me, i was getting demoted. (said DreamingInsane). I think it is here where problems rose. you can see the action in the log, from 14:09:50 till the end. it got really confusing as i tried to address to multiple people at the same time of the issue at hand. Because of the issue, DreamingInsane made it look as if I purposely did it, and that i did it just then. What i believe happened is that they had thought that I just made that cuboid, and that the incident that had just happened (with the lava and water in a guest's build) was completely isolated. Thus, Desosus took this second incident as my failure to comply with his orders from before. DreamingInsane made me look like a lying griefer, and i was pretty much ridiculed by the other builders and such. A combination of bad luck, and being at the wrong place at the wrong time, for all the wrong reasons caused this collage of events to unfold. But the ridicule and degradation didn't end there. When i saw that i couldn't access my build in Builder10, i asked for one of the higher ups to transfer it to guest.

He didn't ban me though. Later on, when i wanted to move the build i had been working on in main to guest, cdferg eventually agreed to help me, and move my build to Guest. After that, i left the server, and went to my Logs to get a better understanding of what happened (since my brother wasn't going to tell me the truth anyway). What came out of the log (you can see it in the first log excerpt, the very top) was that my Little brother first enabled lava, and tried to use /c to build it. Now, he most likely learned this from watching me use these commands previously. Of course, /c is pretty easy to remember, and he saw how it worked when he watched me use it. He also knew previously of /lava and /water from chats between builders. Anyway, he tried to build a shitload of lava (about 62,000) and the system stopped him. Then, he made a smaller cuboid, but since he was in Spawn, he couldn't build from the ground (and the log shows many blocked attempts to build on ground, and saved area. He then used /j main to jump to the main map. I myself was surprised that he knew that command, but i guess he saw me use it so many times that he learned how to do it himself. He then tried to build in spawn, to no avail. He then tried to use /c to build 524,000 blocks, again denied. Then, he used used /c to build the 5500 block layer of lava in main, which was caught by Desosus, and everyone else. This block however, did not interfere with anyone's builds. Then, after a while, he enabled water, and then he went on randomly placing them in a person's build till Desosus froze him, and asked him what he was doing. shortly after, i got on, and asked what was going on. You know the rest from there.

Final Thoughts:
Yes, i know, it was my account, my responsibility (I heard this like 20 times..) but the way that the op's and others went about this was really unnecessary, and the blatant ignorance from DreamingInsane was quite daunting. Simply put, i was gangraped by Dreaming and the others, and unable to explain the already confusing situation. That was VERY unnecessary, and i would know. I have dealt with my own fair share of moderating, and i know that you have to control yourself when placed against babies who whine and complain, and the ***holes that try to undermine you. There are certain ways to approach this, and what DreamingInsane did wasn't one of them. You don't deal justice by refusing to even consider the accused's explanation, especially when he never had repeat offences of the act. Even though I am a builder, with the circumstances, i deserved a more fair and rational case. Sure, it was my fault that my little brother got on and did some damage, i admit that. But it isn't right that i was ridiculed for something i didn't do, especially from someone that didn't even consider anything that I said.
In short, I would hope that nothing like this ever happens in the future, and that no one else will have to deal with what i had to deal with. I would also like for the record to be set straight that i did NOT purposely grief and use commands to spam lava and water in main, and that it was a fault of personal responsibility. I'm not going to ask or beg for my rank back, that is up to you. If you don't feel that i deserve it, so be it. I honestly didn't even feel that i deserved my rank anyway, since i wasn't even done with my 'promo' build, nor was i even looking for a promo. W/e, just take proper action. That is all.

I'm just going to respond to the pertinent bits. I first found the cartoonman account griefing in somebodys build, placing random blocks of water and lava all over it and deleting stuff. I froze him and asked what he was doing, to which he didn't reply as he was apparently afk and it was his brother. When he eventually replied, he said that it was his brother who was doing it.

I had a discussion with other staff members and we came to the conclusion that since it was only a small amount of griefing from the account, that we would just issue a verbal warning not to do it again and that even if was your "brother", that you are responsible for what happens on your account.

We then found the lava cuboid and checked the logs which showed that it was created by the same account. The demotion happened not because I thought that the lava cuboid was a second offence but because the first instance of griefing was more extensive than just putting down a few random blocks of water or lava in someone's build.

As to accusations of ridicule and degradation, I'm sorry you feel that way. I have very little tolerance for griefers, especially those who attain the rank of builder as they're supposed to know better. To be honest, I have better things to do than make easier the life of someone who just got demoted for griefing. You should also know that not all griefers are banned instantly. They are kicked first. In your case, the demotion served the same purpose. If you had been caught griefing a second time, you would then have been banned.

Yes, you've heard it a million times and I'm going to say it again. Your account is YOUR responsibility. Anything that occurs on your account, whether that be by you or your brother is your responsibility.

We also have a zero tolerance policy for the "my brother did it" brand of appeals which we get so many of. It becomes even less convincing when there was cuboid grief which you claim your brother found out how to use by watching you. I simply do not find this believable.

For all intents and purposes, you are your account because we can't determine whether it was you or your brother who griefed. The only action we can take to prevent griefing like this is to take action against the account.

How exactly were you ridiculed by the staff? Nowhere in the posted chat logs do I see ridicule.

Basically, our stubbornness was unneccesary. All we are required to do is demote and direct him to the appeal forum. All that excess

I did what I had to do, Your 'logs' can be modified obviously to your liking, unlike server logs which I have 0 overwrite permission to. As Desosus said, You've been caught spamming cuboids, griefing in main. Why are you denying?

I spoke it over with Desosus and I gave the OK for the demotion. How, Did I, In my part did something wrong? I checked the logs, Came to an agreement and that's that. I have 0 control over you.

As to what cdferg posted: It is a matter of importance, He is covering the truth as he knows he did. We have different views, Which I'm not going to be blamed for.

Your brother was on your account, you admitted that several times, and he griefed. That's as bad as you griefing.

You said that Dreaming accused you of griefing, which is true, but how could he possibly know it your brother on your account?

From what I can read, you let this happen TWICE, which makes me wonder why you didn't learn the first time.

There are so many "it was my brother" cases that pop up, it's hard to tell who is lying and who isn't.

tl;dr, you admitted your brother griefed on your account, the staff just enforced the rules they are given.

To make it clear:

I'm NOT pissed at the demotion

I AM pissed at the aftermath of the whole deal.

I completely understand, you demoted me out of protocol (and Desosus's explanation really helps to clear the confusion up) and that was it. MA, MR, i get it.

but after the demotion, I got many negative responses, and no one takes me seriously anymore. I mean, ok, i was demoted, cuz i wasn't responsible enough. that's my fault, but it isn't right to keep trashing me like i'm some infamous criminal. It's like shooting the guy once he's dead. It serves no purpose.
Look, i'm sorry that this all happened, and I won't have it ever happen again, but trashing me isn't going to make that anything better. It's only going to aggravate the guy that got caught under the bus.

EDIT: @xKoreaNx: i'm not going against staff's actions regarding demotion, i'm going against the actions afterwards.

PS: on a final note, i highly recommend that someone from the outside (not involved in the mess) give the final say, since there's too many instances of potential bias, and we all have diff. viewpoints as cdferg said.

As something who has absolutely nothing to do with any of this, I agree with the action taken against you. No matter the circumstances and bias, fact is we have a simple ruled that declares that you are responsible for your account. You will remain a guest for a while, use that time to show your sincerity.
