today when i undoxed grief for someone they had lava and from my perspective i saw the lava was there but from the players perspective he/she said the lava was still missing.

Maybe they had a bad network connection? If the packets containing the block changes failed to reach them, they probably wouldn't see the new blocks unless they were modified again.

Minecraft protocol works over IPv4, so it guarantees sequential and intact delivery of all packets. So it's theoretically impossible to lose individual packets/changes without fully losing connection.

If someone adds a block and someone deletes it in less then around 100 milliseconds, it shows the block for some one, not the other person.
