Port Forwarding Start

Post by Calpernicus »

Okay, I recently downloaded the fcraft server software and got everything set up, besides port forwarding. I went into my port forwarding router settings through my browser and I set up a service:

Service: Minecraft
Protocol: TCP
Global PortStart: 25565
Global PortEnd: 25565
Base HostPort: 25565

Can someone tell me what to do next? Or what I did wrong with that? I really just need help because I am not experienced in this at all. All help is greatly appreciated.

God bless,
Calpernicus.

Port forwarding instructions vary between different routers, operating systems, and setups. I recommend using PortForward.com as your guide.

Okay, I checked it out, I think I might just be being stupid, but I don't get it. I have a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 turboG air station and I already went into it and know how to edit the firewall and port forwarding setting, but I don't know how to link a service on there to fcraft.

[25565] [check] I'll click the check button and get

25565: Port closed, you need to set up forwarding.

Even though I already set up a port in my router with the port 25565. I am frustrating myself more than I need to about this I'm sure, but I just don't know what to do, and I just can't follow what portforward.com instructs me to do.

Don't feel bad, I followed portforward.com exactly and it still wouldn't work.

Understand that if you cannot figure out how to do it with the link above, you really probably have no business running a server at all.
