New keyboards are silly because I don't know how to use them

i'm using a Samsung laptop in Australia and while using the new voice recognition the keys got all messed up I.E O=6 P=* and from a to m it's pretty much stuffed iv'e gone onto control panel and done all the things such as going to control panel resetting the keyboard to Australian which shold have reset the defaults I think that should have fixed it. Also b'cos i'm on a laptop a new keyboard wouldn't fix it and using a shitty on screen keyboard really sucks.
if you've had a problem like this please tell me how you resolved it. (the os is also samsung)
